The National Crime Victim Law Institute (NCVLI), through a cooperative agreement with the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), is soliciting proposals to establish pro bono crime victim legal clinics that will provide direct legal services to crime victims in criminal courts. Through this Request for Proposals NCVLI will award up to four 12-month subawards in amounts up to $100,000 to applicants seeking to establish crime victim legal clinics in any of the 50 states. NCVLI will also award one 12-month subaward in an amount up to $100,000 to an applicant seeking to establish a crime victim legal clinic in the District of Columbia. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations or institutions of higher education.

Please note that prospective applicants must submit a 1-page letter of inquiry by 5pm (PST), January 2, 2009 describing their organization, identifying the federal, state, and, if applicable, tribal jurisdiction(s) to be served, and referencing the core victims’ rights law(s) that would be litigated.
Completed application packages are then due no later than 5pm (PST), January 30, 2009.
