WGO is uniquely designed to invoke the interests of readers through literary dialogue. This magazine is for all that celebrate commonality and welcome innovative ideas.
WGO magazine (print edition)
WGO is a free magazine devoted to portraying the community’s perspective through literary excellence united with artistic expression. Its innovative approach to journalism embodies the spirit of the readers while its versatility embraces the aspirations of artists, entrepreneurs, journalists and the like. Each quarterly issue incorporates quality layouts, original content and in-depth subject matter pertaining to current events as well as hot topics affecting the community.
WGOmag.com (online version)
WGOmag is a website launched to provide an interactive resource to the printed edition. It is dedicated to providing the VOICE for the unheard, the VISION for the over comers and the VITALITY for the opportunistic. This site is committed to becoming Lexington’s official source for serving the community.
Print Edition:
• Please send an email stating your intention to write for the print edition specifically, with three samples of your work attached.
• Please note: We're not interested in first-person perspectives for the print magazine.

Submissions:
Submissions are only accepted via email. Please submit articles as Word attachments and graphics or illustrations in jpeg format at 300 dpi resolution. Your name and a one-two sentence bio should be included with your submission, as well as an author photo (for the online bio) if possible. Articles are automatically archived. Writers retain copyright for pieces published on the website.
Please double-check spelling and grammar before submitting. All articles will be edited for length, grammar, content, style and tone.
Queries:
Please send a one-paragraph query to features editor at editor@WGOmag.com. Include a summary describing the article idea, an approximate length and date it could be finished. Note a response may take up to 3-4 weeks due to the abundance of queries. If you have not heard back from us after this period, please assume that we will not be able to use your idea or submission.
Compensation:
If article is accepted for print magazine, compensation will occur within 45 days of its publication; website submissions are on a donation basis (byline and bio are compensation). Payment is a flat rate based around .10 a word, first-time print rights and all electronic rights to unpublished pieces for six months, non-exclusive rights thereafter. Once an assignment is made (we assign one month out from the bi-monthly editorial deadline), article should be emailed by midnight of the deadline given. If the article does not meet deadline or does not meet editorial standards, we reserve the right to refuse payment.
